This 5-mile infrastructure project focuses on expanding U.S. Highway 212 from a two-lane undivided highway to a four-lane divided expressway. The project spans from Highway 34 in Norwood Young America to Highway 36 in Cologne, effectively closing the final gap in the four-lane corridor between Glencoe and the Twin Cities. Key improvements include the construction of a grade-separated quadrant interchange at the intersection of Highway 212 and Highway 51 (Bongards), enhancing safety and traffic flow. The project aims to improve freight mobility and regional connectivity, serving as a vital link for commerce between southwestern Minnesota, South Dakota, and the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
